MINUTES OF THE WATER COMMISSIONERS
Wednesday October 9, 2019 @ 6:00 P.M.
Town Clerk’s Office
Members Present: Brooks Sturtevant, Mike Lawyer and Sara Rainville, secretary.
Guests: Dave Bennion, Selectboard and Jeremy Barnum, water system operator
Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mike Lawyer. Pledge of allegiance was recited.
Brooks/Mike made the motion to approve the September 11, 2019 minutes; vote taken, all in favor, motion passed.
Trial balance report for FY20 was reviewed; checking account balance $46,420.98. There are 9 outstanding accounts from the July 1, 2019 billing that were sent disconnects notices. Disconnects are scheduled for the week of October 28, Monday-Thursday; door tags will be left at houses due to be shut-off on Friday, October 25, 2019.
A warrant with supporting invoices totaling $122.58 was submitted for review and signatures by the members. Discussion was had.
- Monthly sampling is being completed; Jeremy has the supplies for the PFA sampling, it will be done when routine sampling is completed in October. Water level at spring is good.
-Metal detector was tabled until
-Hydrant flushing will be set up with Jeremy and the fire department, tentatively scheduled for the week of October 21, 2019.
Water System Project Update:
-public informational meeting October 30, 2019 and Australian ballot vote November 5, 2019. Informational sheet for the public meeting was reviewed, Mike will add the info meeting and vote date to it. Absentee ballots will be available starting October 10, 2019 at the Town Clerk’s Office.
The need to increase rates further due to the upcoming project was discussed. The members will review it again at their next meeting.
Other Business & Mail:
-Public informational Meeting on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the FELCO Room.
-Water System Project Vote on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the Town Clerk’s Office from 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
-Next month’s meeting will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.
Motion made by Brooks/Mike to adjourn the meeting by, all in favor, motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 6:53 p.m.
