MINUTES OF THE WATER COMMISSIONERS
Wednesday July 8, 2020 @ 6:00 P.M.
Town Clerk’s Office
Members Present: Brooks Sturtevant, Mike Lawyer, Marshall Ploof and Sara Rainville, secretary.
Guests: Dave Bennion-Selectboard and Jeremy Barnum, water system operator.
Meeting called to order at 6:01 p.m. by Mike Lawyer. Pledge of allegiance was recited.
Motion made by Brooks/Marshall to approve minutes from June 10, 2020; vote taken, all in favor, motion passed.
Sara presented the water commissioners with a Year-End trial balance report for FY20; checking account balance $184,233.62. Currently there is $611.66 outstanding from users, prior to the July 1, 2020 bills being mailed.
A warrant with supporting invoices totaling $140.71 for July bills was submitted for review and signatures by the members.
A warrant with supporting invoice totaling $209.80 for remaining June 2020 bills was submitted for review and signatures by the members.
A warrant with supporting invoice totaling $10,232.09 for the June 2020 loan payment was submitted for review and signatures by the members.
A warrant with supporting invoices totaling $1278.39 for 1st quarter payroll was submitted for review and signatures by the members.
A warrant with supporting invoices totaling $1433.96 for 2nd quarter payroll was submitted for review and signatures by the members.
All members were in favor of billing disconnected users the Debt Repayment charge.
-sampling-Jeremy stated all is going well. He will sample before the project gets underway.
- paint tank hatches-Jeremy will take care of.
-locks-need 8 locks keyed alike, Mike will send members options.
-hydrant painting-Brooks will coordinate with Jeremy on getting supplies & timeline
-water conservation-Jeremy checks the spring & reservoir and reports the daily findings to the members.
Water System Project Update:
Mike had an update from John at Otter Creek Engineering on July 6, 2020. Otter Creek will be making weekly site visits to inspect the project progress. The board discussed the project timeline and the tank work.
Other Business & Mail:
Letter from Vermont Electric Cooperative about the meter at the spring site not being used but there being a base fee to pay.
The next monthly Water Department meeting will be on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.
Motion made by Brooks/Marshall to adjourn the meeting by, all in favor, motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:19 p.m.
